Jason & Jody look forward to welcoming you to Daisy Cabin at Lower Farm. On your arrival you will be greeted and can enjoy the short walk down to the cabin, meeting the chickens and the geese and saying hi to the horses along the way! If you have much to carry, we have a wheelbarrow to loan which is ideally suited to the job!. Your car will be left securely in the farmyard but you are of course welcome to come and go as you please during your stay, we just ask that you leave your car back in the parking area. Once in the cabin you can take time to settle in and relax into the peace, privacy and comfort of your surroundings. We are on hand should you need anything during your stay but chances are ​we'll only see you again to say goodbye until next time! ​
Daisy Cabin is solar powered so electricity is limited. There is a USB port for charging a phone if necessary. Personally, our advice would be to catch up on all of those unread books, blow dry your hair in the wind or next to the stove and listen to yourself or each other!  This really is an opportunity to literally switch everything off and just be……. ​
Being off grid and with a low environmental impact, there is limited central heating by way of 3 radiators. Timers are set for the coldest weather, for a warmer welcome and easing into the morning. The cabin is primarily heated by the wood burning stove. ​Piping hot water is gas powered and the samll fridge is kept cool with ice blocks, refreshed as you need. Cooking is either on the two burner gas hob, BBQ or on the open fire pit. This may sound limited but with a little bit of planning and creativity we think that you will agree that the range of delicious food that can be served is quite amazing!   ​
Relax outdoors and listen to birdsong and soft breezes or curl up inside next to the wood burning stove and listen to rain on a tin roof. Enjoy a campfire for cooking or simply toasting marshmallows, all within the privacy of the orchard which surrounds the cabin and where you are the only guests. Enjoy beautiful sunsets that our Creator artist paints across the orchard, and watch the wonderful possibilities of a brand new day unfold in the sunrise across the field. Spot herds of fallow deer from the handcrafted kitchen windows, stargaze in the unspoilt darkness and listen to owls hoot. 
With all of this tranquility it's easy to forget that you are only a 20 minute drive away from the county town of Hertford or just 30 minutes from the city of Cambridge​ if you want to explore all that they have to offer. ​​​​
The local village of Cottered is just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk away with the charming, traditional Bull Pub serving fresh, quality homemade food and delicious Sunday roasts! Cottered is also a great starting point for various walks including part of the the Hertfordshire chain walk which gives super views of the flat lands of Cambridgeshire and also a series of delightful Hertfordshire parks, woods and nature reserves.
